Whenever I Think About Pioneers....

Lat week we got to experience what it's like without plumbing. Okay, so not entirely without plumbing- we could flush about once a day- but no bathing or washing clothes! After the sewer backed up- for the second time in a month- we knew that the Town of Cary had some work to do. It only took them a week to get the plans and come to dig up the street and fix the pipes. The guys who did the work were so nice- they even let us sit outside and watch the backhoe, dumptrucks, and other machinery. They found the lid for the cleanout stuck in the pipe underneath the street- who knows how long it's been there! My folks let us come over every day and take long baths and showers, wash piles and piles of laundry, and eat dinners that required washing dishes afterward! It was so nice! On the plus side- the Town of Cary added some grass seed to the front yard where they did the work- maybe we'll finally have some decent grass in the front yard!

  1. Cute New Blog!! :) I know you have got to be glad to have that fixed, and at least you got some nice free entertainment watching the trucks.

  2. Thanks- Rich and I have finally figured out how to change this thing! The machinery was fun to watch (there had to be something good come from this!)
