waiting game

They took Erika' EEG machine down for analysis. She is still hooked up to all the sensors, in case they want to monitor her some more after the results come back. Yesterday, she was still having minor seizures even with the Zepra and Dylantin doses greatly increased. So, they added another medication as well to try and get control of the seizures. I think it's called Lyrica.

Otherwise, Erika's speech and memory continue to improve. Everything else is going great as well. The doctors haven't given us any indication of whether she'll be going home or not today - but they continue to say that the seizures should stop soon.

  1. Whee! What wonderful news! Maybe the EEG is wonky and she's not having seizures at all. We're so happy to hear of the progress. Let us know if we can help in any way. The girls like to clean up. But only after they've made a big mess themselves. And they don't do windows.

  2. Stubborn seizures! Don't they know that Erika would heal much faster at home in her comfy bed. Seriously, let it go already siezures, you're not going to win!!

  3. Maybe Erika is faking the seizures. Just a thought. Making Richard sleep in that awful chair and really loves the view and the smell of the hosiptal and food. A break for her cutie puties. Gives more time to allow her patch of hair to grow back before people see her. Sounds like something Erika would do. :) or MAybe Richard planned it from the beginning.
Just teasing, I am glad things are getting better so you can leave soon.

  4. Interesting theory Rachel.

Of course you know that you will have to be attached with water balloons next time you are in NC.
