Been a fairly busy day. I slept at the house last night, and visited with Mom and Dad. Rob and Ron came by the house and it was really nice to visit with them. And, we played some Bomberman on the Wii. That was an awesome time, and good to de-stress.
Unfortunately, the dishwasher overflowed somehow and got water on our new hardwood floors. There is a minimal amount of buckling and bubbling!!!! UGH! Thankfully, Granny (Mom) called the office and Eric Schnegelberger was able to come out and use some cool tools to analyze the water damage. He had a water meter and an infrared camera. He brought in some hardwood floor mats that heat the floor to 150 degrees to speed the evaporation process. cool stuff, and thanks PCS!
Erika is doing really well. We walked 1/6 mile around the hall and she has been able to reduce the pain pills just a bit so she is more alert. Gwen read a chapter of Little Women to Erika and we surfed the web together a while. We did a video conference with the kids since they are not allowed to come visit. They took the turban off and I was able to see the incision - boy it is a lot larger than I had imagined. Basically a large horseshoe from in front of her ear around to the bottom of her ear in the back. Staples all around.
Best and a little bit scary news: Erika is coming home TOMORROW! (Saturday) This seemed really early to me, but they recognize that Erika will rest a lot better at home and her appetite will likely be better there - plus, no more hospital germs.
Okay - probably won't post again until Saturday sometime. We should be home a little after lunch.
