Sleep was a little rough when it happened at all. Lots of interruptions and of course the anxiety. We finally got settled down around midnight and they gave erika some medicine to help her sleep.
We were up at 5am getting ready for the surgery and Erika got wheeled down to the prep room at 6am. I had to say goodbye there. In the waiting room now, with a pager they'll use to call me and give me updates.
Surgery should begin at any moment.
